Yes, I agree the level of the competition was pretty tough. I am pretty happy my ugly watch was at the photo finish. I had passed a couple of times on the watch but it kept bothering me at night that I may never see another one in my lifetime so decided an ugly example might be better than no example of this oddity. I still haven't figured out what the exact use case was that P.V.H. Weems decided there was a need for this Stop Seconde. I believe that the design evolved into the 47mm 12.68z Stop Seconde better known as the IDF Weems of the 1950s used by the IDF Helocopter pilots and the Japanese Self Defense Forces of the Maritime Search and Rescue Coast Guard.  The 4461 may have been the very first running seconds flyback chronograph Weems.

I always held out for the "CIA" version but never got one.

I’m sure it won’t be the last one I add to my collection. Hope you find one that works for you.

on eBay right now. Every time I see that happen, makes me wonder about the stories that these were clandestine operations watches if that was true.

One day I have to add one as any military collection must has this Vietnam era watch
