Hello Dear Friends!
I have the pleasure of being your Host for this weekend edition of WS.
As announced last Wednesday our Theme is “Casebacks!” and we ask our participants to share their favorite watch casebacks.
Probably many watch lovers prefer a transparent caseback allowing to enjoy the view a beautiful movement. By the other hand others prefer a closed caseback which allows the watchmaker to decorate it with some attractive design.
My beloved brand Rolex prefers to make completely dull plain casebacks... except for a couple of models like the Sea Dweller and Milgauss which by some reason display markings making them very special within the brand. Interesting isn´t it?
Some closed casebacks are truly little Masterpieces which don´t cease to marvel me and every aficionado who view these beautiful creations born in the minds of watchmakers, be it the logo of the brand (in high relief or engraved) or an special motif related with a particular theme which the timepiece commemorates or relates with.
In my personal case, I enjoy both types of casebacks (transparent and closed) and I even own a watch which I bought just by falling in love with its caseback. Can you imagine which one?
So, our Theme is inviting to explore our favorite and nicest casebacks in our collections and share them here. I suggest to add in the entry a front shot of the watch to show the timepiece whose caseback is being shared.
As usual the event begins today Friday and will extend through the weekend till Sunday 30th around 5 PM GMT.
Remember that you may send shots to participate in one or both traditional categories: "Best Wrist Shot" and "Best Static Shot". And all pictures received will participate in the "Best Watch of the Week" Category.
For those willing to participate for the first time I suggest to read the excellent "Event Guide" written by our Captain Scarlet following this link: www.watchprosite.com
The event is open now! You may post your entries in this same thread.
Have an enjoyable weekend!
Abel
PS: I will be posting my favorite casebacks later.
