WristScan July 26 - 28 starts now (end is July 28, 12:00 GMT). Theme is "A Robinsonade". I declare the island open!

Cast away for a couple of years like Robinson Crusoe, you and a single watch, your personal only watch. Which of your watches should be with you on the remote island? Come clean and tell us your considerations. Is it a tool watch which can stand all the calamities of insularity? Is it the watch of your grandfather if you love the memory in such a situation? A golden watch suitable for bribary or to pay for a return ticket? An annual calender to adjust your time feeling now and then? What is your approach?

My only island watch. No second hand, don`t want to see time flying. No automatic, don`t want to wear it all time. Power reserve of one week. Winding would be a weekly ritual and keeps me surviving the next week.

no surprise for me. since I'll probably need to fish, hike, run, dig I do need something reliable

A tool watch and gold for a return ticket if you have to buy one. But beware any natives. They might love the ethno pattern. And they have big cooking pots.

On WristScan Island...

I would need my trusty Doxa, because it’s robust, reliable and an old friend. What more would a man need ...., apart from β€œGirl Friday”

ThatΒ΄s a great choice my dear Captain!! I feel I would go for my Doxa too! Great shots! Hagwe Abel. [nt]

Thanks Brauner...,

You should take a look, tremendous history in the world of diving.

You cannot go wrong with this one on a desert island. [nt]

Impossible to fault your choice...

 By: KMII : July 27th, 2019-23:11
And fantastic shots!

Thanks Brauner for a great theme, nicely presented. For my two years alone on the island, it came down to an Aquanaut 5167 and a Deepsea, and I ultimately chose the 5167...

Very simple and versatile, sturdy enough if I misbehave and get chased by the natives, but most important of all...in two years from now, if I enjoyed my stay, I'll be able to sell it to the chiefs and buy the entire island with the proceeds...smile
