The Lumen Perpetual version was not mandatory, in my opinion.
But to each his own...
The mechanics is and remains great but the lumen treatment is not creative and does not enhance the look imho.
I'm biased towards this model but yes, the L1 moonphase design is exceptionally well suited for lumen treatmentt.
I am also biased...
but I voted with my $ for the Grand L1 Moonphase. It works really well in that iteration.

No creativity here from lange... make a lumen version of what is already in catalog. Also a limited edition WG dato 🤷♂️

I have never been a fan the lumen versions either. But taste is very subjective.
I don’t expect any brand to come out every year with a revolutionary model, but Lange as well as most brands haven’t done anything in the last couple of years!
I believe that they’re just copying the Rolex business model…

That was a novelty last year, pretty involved engineering to develop that movement. Not sure it is revolutionary but I don't think it was nothing either...just my thoughts
True, but I don’t count novelties since those are not a serially produced model in the catalog.
Most big name brands do novelties/off catalog models every year, I was referring to serially produced models.

Priced to deter flipping for sure :) And more costly than the HG Tourbograph PLM was a few years ago.
I also thought they might make only 25 or 30 (for 25th anniversary of the Dato or 30th anniversary of Lange) but they're making 50.
This may be a watch that anyone with the money can walk in off the street and buy several years from now, after all prior customers who want one have had a chance to get one. We'll see.

I've never liked their lumen-models. A "normal" dial is more in my taste. And the price......
The question is why?
I feel I need to wipe my glasses to see the dial clearly.
And I suppose they will charge more for this mess than the original?

If it's like the Dato Up/Down Lumen, then I'd probably think it's too green in real life daytime conditions.
I like all the lumen models
But moreso because of the smoked dials. Lange should release a smoked/partially transparent dial Zeitwerk as a normal production model.
