1. The costs. I don’t make such decisions in a rush. Other people buy a (small) house or 5 cars for this money. 2. The GP Neo Tourbillon that still haunts my dreams.
I understand the hesitation, although imho this Breguet has a historical “plus” on the GP, and is perfect in platinum. So I’d go for this one 😬👌🏻 Congratulations in advance regardless of your choice !
There were other variations (from Breguet and other brands) on the internet

that inspired me a lot more.
But when I saw this 5317 in the flesh, it … flashed me (nice pun, at least for someone whose first language is not English 😁)
I've written it here again and again, but I seem to have to remind myself over and over again, too: never rely just on the pictures on the internet!!
You just have to see a watch live on your wrist.
This Breguet in real life is incomparably more effective and convinces me much more than on “flat” images. So I wouldn’t have chosen it just with the internet pictures in mind.
Also the case size of 39mm is more than enough (normally I won’t buy beyond 40 mm, because despite my narrow wrist, I only feel comfortable with this case size. For whatever reason).
For me it is a no brainer to go for this Breguet. Sure, the GP’s are awesome, hard to ignore.
A power reserve meter, a tourbillon, a second hand on the tourbillon, a platinum case, 39mm case size, Breguet hands (it is a Breguet, coincidence), and even the black strap is ok.
If you have a house and a couple of nice cars, and still some cash after the purchase, than there is no hurdle on the road.
I see ones a Breguet Marine in a shop and i looked also at images on the internet. It depends on how the images are taken. Sure, a Marine is a different Breguet than the tourbillon you post, albeit it was a guilloché Bregeut i had ones in my own hands. Impressive and not expensive. A serious professional bike.
Thank you very much. I see and understand your inclination towards Breguet.
Regardless of the number of houses and cars: do you also have a kind of psychological pain threshold/barrier where you think twice about an acquisition, regardless of whether you can afford the object of desire or not?
I feel this way when I think about how hard many people work and will never be able to afford it. I have also worked hard for decades and am now reaping the rewards. There always remains a feeling of gratitude. So I am well aware of this happiness of prosperity. And still, on the other hand, I also have a bad conscience when I buy a luxury item in this price category.
I peak a little what the Breguet 5317 price new is. 🤗. A bit over 1 ton plus a green Submariner with box and papers. I commit, a Breguet Marine in stainless steel is cheaper.
For the hard workers a Breitling Navitimer can be their first celebration for the sweat and tears. My advice to them is to set a Rolex out of their mind and focus on a decent Fortis.
but I would want to see it on the whole dial and not disturbed by a tourbillon. Because although I like tourbillons a guilloche dial has more appearance and structure when being plain imho
