Is it true 'OM SWISS MADE OM' denotes that the Omega Constellation dial is made of 18k solid gold. Without the 'OM', it is not solid gold. Kindly advise.

Hi, the "OM" indicates that it is solid gold - thats right. But there are plenty of 18K gold dials without this "OM" markings. The hint is on the back of the dials - there you will find "18K" . To be sure you will have to remove the dial and have a close ...

As far as I know, Omega started to make 18K gold dials on case ref 2699 Piepan de Luxe dials. (if you have something earlier than that, please correct me). On these dials, there is no OM at all and you have to look on the back of the dial to see if there ... 

Yes, as far as I have been able to ascertain 2699 is the earliest 18k dial for a Constellation. It makes sense in a way because the 2699 and 2700 were the first models to feature a pie pan dial. Re OM, the earliest I have seen OM on a gold dial in the Con...

Achim. And the Centenary was the forefather of the Constellation. No OM of course. Probably the first non-Connie example that I know of. Cheers Desmond
