Omega

Two questions

Hello everyone,

I've just bought this 2006 De Ville Co-axial escapement three hander, 37.5mm (ref. 168.1700).

For personal reasons I was gravitating towards Seamasters of the 1950-1960s when I stumbled across this. As I eyed it up, I realised how much I liked the case form of a De Ville Chronograph from the mid-2000s that I sold just last year. So this new buy becomes two watches in one for me: (a) a face of a pre-tool 1960s Seamaster; and (b) a case with that nice combination of hard angles and soft curves. It's one of the simplest, later versions of the watch that celebrated George Daniel's collaboration with Omega, although that's of less importance to me than the personal motivation behind wanting it.

My questions are as follows:

1. How many of these watches were made with the silver dial pictured here? (guesstimates welcome)
2. Where can I go to find more information about it? (I can't seem to find the online Omega archive resource that I enjoyed a few years ago)

My subscription to watch bible Europa Star has lapsed, so I thought the next best thing would be to consult the Omega cogniscenti here on WPS.

Thanks in advance for your kind pointers.

Rosneathian.
