thnx folks. i'm now the lucky owner of a Speedy 'replica'

although only for 9 months as it is for my sons 21st which is 3rd august 2009. i know its early to buy something, but i knew what i liked and i knew what he'd like. not many around so you have to buy when you can. i had what i considered to be a reasonable budget for a not overly wealthy man and ended up only 20% over budget which is the story of my life.

i got it from the bay which is where i buy nearly everything. excellent dealer who sells from here and US so no customs duty for me to worry about, been well cleaned and brushed/polished if needed plus serviced. i've sent off to Omega to get full details from their archives as i dont really know what date 77 mil is. i think its 2000.

anyway here's his pics.

BTW if anyone wants any Omega shop stands pm me as they sent me about 200 a few years ago.

i think this is an iconic watch and i prefer it to the professional. i just hope that when i wear it the love doesnt get into my heart so my son never gets it

Sam, your pics highlight how much i like it as well. it might not be the iconic moonwatch, but its as close to the 1957 2998 that you'll get with a modern movement. its just what my son wants i think, something modernish with a vintage look. cheers Graham
