Dear fellow Purists, for quite a while I am looking for a vintage Seamaster or Connie in RG. Now I came across this one: The watch harbours a cal. 503 and following its movement no. dates back to approx. 1960. What do you think about the watch? Your opini...  

Amazing movements, the golden age of Omega! I love my Seamaster!

. . . and the case overly polished, but it appears to be correct otherwise. This is a fairly common reference, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find an unmolested example. Cordially, Art

Im on a learning curve,so please treat me gently as a newbie to watch can you tell that the dial has been refinished? Also,other than the obvious,what points to look out for in general? (Omega database is helpful up to a point.)

. . . the quality of the printing, the fonts of some of the letters ('Automatic' should have flat-topped "A's"), the absence of 'Calendar' below 'Seamaster', and the absence of minutes/seconds markers. The texture and color of the dial are also suspect, b...

. . . than sorry. Some folks don't mind restored dials, but for those that insist on originality, discovery after the fact can be distressing. Best, Art
