You many be right though this is where omega is headed - large mark-up on the repair of vintage pieces sent to Bienne or other omega owned service centers by restricting parts distribution. It may not be official yet but the sense I get is it is getting harder and harder to get spare parts from the usual channels I use. What used to be in stock is now backordered and takes sometimes months to come.

Hi Mike, I can not confirm this. Sorry I have not been precise enough... My experience concerns watchmakers here in Europe. They have to be certified and specially trained in Switzerland - then they get parts for repair but only for rather "young" models....

The shame is that this can backfire...
...with it being more financially rewarding for those who make reproduction parts and sell illegally. I don't understand the logic, myself. It would be great to get true clarification (sans politi-speak) from Omega on this.
