Really well preserved for sure
The hands all original nothing was replaced except for gaskets. The crystal had to be replaced because we could not remove it and it had to be broken to remove. The old gasket tends to create a haze inside the crystal so I wanted to replace it.

I am not sure but the assumption is new material is better.
Tag heuer have similar gasket issues so I think all watches of the same era. Are defective. I need to research a little more. Bill

Wow, that must have been some task breaking the crystal!!!!...
.....but I guess we often forget the effect of ageing gaskets, especially these PloProf gaskets, who lets not forget where designed to be resilient to helium intrusion. Great job. Tony
The mterials have improved over the years
In the past it seems the petroleum based gaskets melted. I guess the material have improved or maybe not I guess we will know when we check the gaskets in 10 or 20 years. Bill

A real time capsule
The hands look almost new but they are original. As you can see the gaskets had melted and this was the first time the watch was opened. The two color markings are a real pleasure to look at. Thanks Bill
