I understand why they are at auctions and bidding, but I don’t understand why they would get involved in a lot like this that was so questionable. If they won, would they have displayed this watch or just thrown it in a drawer?

When the intention is to cheat, fabricate and realize fictitious gains, it destroys all meaning and purpose behind watch collecting. A real shame it is, if we are to shun vintages because of the crimes of others. There’s just so much to explore in the vin...
