I hope someone can shed a little light on this dial. I have looked in all my reference books but can find nothing. Please help. Thanks...  

But I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that this is simply dial deterioration that has patterned in a particular way. Absolutely beautiful patination, in my opinion, where a dark painted dial centre has, through serendipity, emerged as a one-off th... 

There is no dial deterioration. It is in pristine condition with no fading or discoloration and no damage by sun or moisture. The markers on the back side are original with no ground marks or gluing. The date window is consistent with other Omegas that I ...

So we see a textured dial, and the close-up, to me, shows dial deterioration under the textured finish. If we accept that dial degradation occurs through either sun weakening/powdering/flaking the lacquer coating and causing changes in the chemical compos... 

Hi Skip, I think Desmond has pointed out correctly what might have happened  to the dial... I do not think this is a factory original finish. kind regards Erich

Hi Skip I have a Longines that is speckled gold and a black background that looks great but is classified as a defective dial aka patina ... It stunning and I love it .. .but I did not think it left the factory that way. The same with your Omega , do not ...

i offer the possibility that it has been done deliberately to expose the dial material underneath and create a random pattern which looks really good. Graham
