Omega Ultra Deep.....

Jun 20, 2019,11:54 AM

OMEGA’s Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep Professional, to give it its full title, has just been announced. Slim, for this type of watch and light at less than 28mm.

The expedition logo etched on the caseback represents  The Five Deeps Expedition team to map the Ocean Floor, together with information including the model, reference number, DNV-GL certification, maximum tested 15,000m depth and materials are all laser-engraved. Price of a retail version and final production details are not yet available and no official production version has been confirmed by Omega.

My initial thoughts are that Omega made a great job of this watch. I love the large crown, the shape of the hands and I prefer the matt bezel to the Rolex version.

This is a prototype model though. Three made. Don’t know if a production model will follow. May be smaller. Interesting piece anyway! Cheers Abel

Same here, Amigo. [nt]

Hello Abel...

Rolex made similar prototypes and then refined to produce a “retail” version. Omega are serious about this piece.

It's A Mystery Whether This...

... Watch will ever see a boutique shelf. But I am sure Omega will do another watch that will be based on this watch and wont be a "one off". Either way, it looks like a triple cheeseburger. Image Courtesy of WatchTime Fact of the matter is, I LOVE IT! ...

To my knowledge it is a one off, so not a model release...

... since you mentioned „price to be confirmed“ 😉 The impact would have been significantly greater if actually Omega had decided to make this a listed product... Cheers Henrik

I love this

I’m guesstimating 48mm. Surprisingly from the dial side it looks nice , but the tickles ...

Maybe it’s best worn on the ankles . Nevertheless a nice technological achievement !

Does anyone see the irony?....
