Omega Speedmaster ´57 Co-Axial Chronograph ...
with caliber 9300/9301 and equipped with a silicon balance spring.
It was already introduced in Basel 2013, but I can´t remember we talked a lot about the watch. Well, Imran (aka Miranda) mentioned it once or twice. Did I miss it?

The Omega Speedmaster is on the market for more than 50 years and we have seen quite a lot different versions. For some it is a must-have in any watch collection.
For me it was always a nice watch and some I liked a little bit more. But I never fall in love, so far.
When I saw pictures of the new ´57 it got my attention. The puristic and almost vintage style together with some nice technical features. Everything inside a wearable 41.5 mm case. The latter is nicely shaped on top.
Nice details on the dial ...

and a bezel I like a lot.
The movement is interesting to say the least, because of its technical features.

It is not haute horlogerie what we see, but still interesting. Quite
"technical" and I have to get used to that kind of style. But I hope I am
not a "watch snob" and I would like to give it a try
Unfortunately I had no appointment with Omega in Basel last year and so I coulnd´t take any pictures. My schedule was just too tight!
I had to wait until they reached the stores. So far I only tried the steel black dial version with leather strap. But there are quite a few more ...

Which one is the best? Leather strap or bracelet? The latter could be interesting for me, but my expectations are quite high when it comes to bracelets. I have no experience with bracelets from Omega, but had the pleasure to wear some really good ones from other brands ... and tried to avoid those which don´t feel good for me.
Until I can try my favourite version(s) at one of my AD´s, I would like to get your opinions on that specific model.
If you already have real-world experiences, pictures ... please share

Hi Oliver, I like the new 57 very much. I did hear it weighs in a little heavy and was partial to the titanium model... But after thinking more about it, going to stay with my current Broad Arrow... And Mondphase... I don't think you're a watch snob at...

I remember well this one poping in 2013. I always liked the Speeedmaster (I have a Mark IV) and especially this dial that will never go out of fashion. Here, I'm not sure it's my favorite dial among the collection. I like 2 sub-dials dials but I don't che...

Dauphine hands, don't me ask why, I consider a perfect match for vintage or vintage looking watches. They look good on my "First Omega in Space" (I love this watch), More modern design demands more modern styled hands, IMHO. Cheers, Nilo ...

Hi Oliver, I tried a Speedy 57 last November at the boutique in Hamburg. It was the black dialed one and this one was great. Fits perfect for my wrist and compared to the PO Chrono with 9300 mvmt the watch was not to thick. I'm not sure if I can imagine t...
