Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 with the "220-bezel" on the rusty beam

Jun 21, 2018,03:10 AM

When Omega slightly changed the lay-out of the Speedmaster bezel in 1970 (e.g. moving from "dot-over-ninty" to "dot-next-to-ninty") the first batch of the then new bezels had actually a genuine mistake on the scale: instead of 225-200-190 it read 225-220-190. These bezels were only fitted for a very short period in the second half of 1970 until the mistake was discovered and corrected. The watch below is from September 30, 1970.

Happy mid-summer to those on the Northern hemisphere, especially to the ones with a wooden beam ;-)

Cheers, HSTE

And even greater watch! Best Blomman

This is the kind of attention to detail that stamp collectors exhibit!

I am not surprised that these fine technical details and errors occur. What’s fun is seeing this photographic evidence here. Cheers, Cazalea

Thanks Walter. As to „DON“: if you look at early Speedy Bezels at the scale „90“, .....
