Sometimes case backs can tell quite a lot about one's watch. The advent of crystal backs has made it possible to get more intimate with the mecanics of the watch, but haven't we also lost something in return?

That reminds me of your comment about taking the caseback off to examine the movement - I wonder if you remember that watch? In case you need a hint, it was the one with the still very stiff steel bracelet...

. . . of the trouble my watchmaker had installing a crystal on the Mk II. He didn't have the right tool, and managed to destroy a new crystal on his first attempt. Ouch!
