... to me looks pretty OK, although through an intense life. The movement serial number goes with approx. 1960, which is in keeping with
the production dates. Many parts of this movement can be easily found. Hands and dial seem good to me. Case is like mine and has the
correct inside markings, and the "waterproof" only outside. The crown is wrong, far too thick, it should be a gently domed one.
You can easily obtain an extract from the Omega archives, which will confirm that the movement belongs to a Ranchero from start.

Hi Achim, I have seen these custom hallmarks several times but could not determine what they show - do you happen to know? Do you know if Spain used these custom "punches" too? I bought a watch from a Spanish dealer which had a hallmark on one lug - but m...

Hi Edward, watch looks legit, it is like mine and seems original (not the crown) as Franco has pointed out. But is it worth to buy it in such desperate condition?? This model is not so scarce, so I think you can find much better examples within a reasonab...

You are absolutely right about your thoughts. Yes I'm a sucker for vintage and loves patina. But this one's dial is too battered. I'll pass this one. Thank you and every one for your prompt response, we can always count on You guys. I am privileged to be ...

Hi Edward, I'd definitely restore it (sympathetically - i.e. not overdone). Unlike some here, I don't see many of these around and if it was mine, I'd try to get it looking as good as possible without vandalizing it. Have fun - and let's see it when it's ...

... I have none with center seconds ! I am sure that you will make it, Rancheros are not hugely difficult to find in good conditions. But be careful because there are many around with later-produced parts. Especially croens and hands, and I have seen many...
