Bitten by the Speedmaster bug. Help Needed.
Hello Everyone,
I am new to the Omega forum as I have just been bitten by the Speedmaster bug!
I would like to acquire a new manual wind piece from the current collection but can't seem to figure which one is THE one.
I am a vintage Rolex guy so I prefer something true to the original.
Which model would you guys recommend from the current lineup of manual wind models?
There are so many variants and I can't seem to figure out which is most desirable.....
Some questions:
Hesalite or Sapphire or Domed Sapphire?
See thru back or solid?
What are the differences in the 1861 and 1863 movements?
OR
Should I just find a true vintage or older model?
Your inputs will be greatly appreciated.

A cal. 321 to be sure
If budget allows a straight lug speedmaster ref. 105.003; for a bit less a later iteration such as the 105.012 or the 145.012
as MSN has said, vintage is best, but if you want newer.
the only one to go for really is the standard model as it has the same history as all the others. if you want something that harks back towards the vintage, but is newer then try the 1957 'replica' made between 1998 and 2001. it has a steel bezel and broa...

Closest to original from current lineup is Hesalite and solid case back manual wind I think "only" difference is caliber it evolved with years like everything else ... good or bad direction ... up to ones taste Cheers Damian
