A little late but I thought it's too good not to share what Omega had in place this year. A lot of effort, research and development went into the making of this year's novelties.
Omega watches are 72% METAS certified now and aims to be fully certified by 2020.
We (with my boss, of course) are lucky to be invited to a special event in beautiful Park City, Utah for the Omega BaselWorld 2018 Novelties presentation.
20~30 Boutique guests from USA gathered for a cozy, friends of Omega 2-day event to ask questions, discussion and try on the 111 Novelties and special pieces that are not advertised.
As this is my first trip to Utah, we stop by Salt Lake City first for a small vacation and it's quite fun to see the base camp of Mormon and visit their famous temple.
Pardon my photo bombing session but pictures are worth a thousand words.
My favorites are still the Apollo 8, CK2998 (sold out in US ) and the 70th Anniversary Seamaster 38mm (both models also sold out in US)....which ones do you like.
For those who felt the central second hand model's hands are too short, Omega listens and will make them longer....thus I'm going for that one.
Ladies are in for a treat too, as I can tell brands are really focusing on this market. Lots of bling-bling and high jewelry options so guys, good luck to our wallets.
Hope you enjoy the virtual tour.

Lucky to enjoy the live performance of the Tabernacle choir on Sundays. They perform here weekly so not to be missed.

Some definitely exciting stuff. Speaking of which, which of the 70th Anniversary Seamasters took your fancy? And aren’t they a tad thicker than the original? Looking like you had a great time
. . . bravo! Not sure if I'll ever delve into modern Omega again, but these 2576/77 reissues would be right up my alley. A black 2576 clone, close to the original in case size, would be a consideration for my collection. What I'd really like to see are se...
I think the Tan strap looks better than the Sturgeon Blue. However, I feel 38mm is the minimum they will like to go in this era. I have other small seconds watch so I opted for the central seconds, plus I like the Lumen markers. Delivery should be in Sep....
. . . lucky you, Ray - JC has been Omega's main man for well over a decade. Any snippets of future developments to share? Inquiring minds want to know! Art
The team is really awesome and I had chance to sit by Greg over dinner to talk about how he designed the Ladymatic, my PCA Speedmaster and the Spectre, and challenges in making the Naiad lock, Aventurine dials etc... impressive 👍🏻 There will be another Ja...
. . . after the twelve or so years since it was released? I don't know why I'm surprised. The limited edition DeVilles . . . [watch credit: Ω boutique / photo credit: Dr No] . . . ca '03/'04 were still available in '12, albeit at the end of their run. Art...
The price of the Seamaster is reasonable with the METAS 8804 (small seconds) or 8806 (central seconds), modern technology, Naiad lock, engravings back sapphire etc. It’s very good quality watch so check it out soon because they told me it was sold out aft...
before committing. My 命不够好 so cannot afford to order and buy without seeing like other real VIPs here 😂 That’s why I need to wait this long...if not for the chance to view these Novelties, I probably not buy any pieces this year till later when I get chan...
