It's part of a broader strategy to achieve two objectives...
1. Make Omega a lifestyle brand. Omega has been diversifying into pens, keychains, small leather goods, and leather bracelets. This is good, to leverage the brand. Tag Heuer had a line of eyewear which was actually quite unique in its day.
2. Bring a new segment of clients into the store. Omega eyewear will be primarily sold at corporate run boutiques. The strategy here is that a boutique staff member will convert this new client into an Omega watch client.
