The 42mm models are based on the Richemont attempt to recreate the pre-Vendome models. The latest 42mm model is a reissue of a reissue if you will.

If Panerai offered that Mare Nostrum anywhere between 40mm - 42mm it would sell like a Daytona. I applaud them for sticking to the historical size, but 52mm is let's just say...nuts

the Mare Nostrum 42mm. The first Mare Nostrum ever produced (before that only prototypes had been made and rejected by the Italian Navy) were indeed 42mm. Recently Panerai produced the PAM716 which is a MN 42mm, limited edition for 2017.
