The PAM 000 was introduced in the G-series

The G (through the I series, if I recall correctly) do not have the little roller on the lever of the crown protecting device. This little roller was added to make the opening and closing action of the lever smoother. The roller was added in the J-series if I remember right.
Also, the caseback engraving of the letter series and watch number (Millesimation) was very lightly engraved on the G-series compared to the later series.
The OP logo on the G-series has the so-called "long arrow" version of the logo. Some early PAM 005's have this also. Not sure why there is a difference.
Finally, the bottom of the dial of the G-series has L Swiss L vs. the L Swiss Made L of the following series.
I hope I'm remembering all this right. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on some of these details. It's been a while since any discussion of these PAMs have come up so I may have forgotten something 🤣
I still have a G-series PAM 000 I bought 10(?) years ago that's been aftermarket PVD'd by the previous owner (see pic below). I also had a J-series PAM 111 (my first Panerai) and J-series PAM 112.
