She is here!!

May 28, 2020,10:30 AM

Got my 127 this afternoon "after a long time of severe suffering" (the watch was at customs four days before it was delivered to me, God knows why ...).

This is now my third watch purchase after I swore in November last year (after buying my grail watch IWC minute repeater) that I would not buy another watch for the next 1,000 years. 😬

I have now put my Fiddy on my wrist in awe (Ahoi, look: at last a different leather strap! Hahahahaah).

And now I understand why so much fuss is made about the PAM 127 "Fiddy"..

The 127 has flair, has a very special look and wears „differently“ (for me: much more comfortable) than other 47mm Panerais I had in my collection. Is it the lugs? Is it a different shape of the watch case? The strongly arched plexiglass is a dream and contributes a lot to the special appearance of this "legend".

I'm really happy (again). Should I make a new vow regarding watch asceticism?
I do not know. Rather not... 😊

Greetings to all of you and "Thank you" (Grrrrrrrrrr....) for your constant heating up my fire for the (and now my) Fiddy
Thomas

Its appeal, unaltered through time. Nice acquisition. Now enjoy it...too much

Thank you, dear Sergio!

Yes, I have to confess, this watch has its own effect that can hardly be described. Almost magical ... How do you do in Italy now? Ciao Thomas

Also for me....

 By: sergio : May 28th, 2020-16:41
it was love at first sight, with the Fiddy. Saw it in a shop window, while waiting for the Macau Hydrofoil, went in put the credit card on the counter and told the owner: "I want THAT one". Lollllll I'm doing great in Italy. After 35 years lived overseas,...

Amore a prima vista...

That is a nice and very fitting wording. For me you are an institution here with a very deep knowledge of Panerai. So I consider it a kind of accolade that we share admiration and affection for the same reference. 😊 It is reassuring to read that you are w...

As if you were talking about your great love ...

I am convinced that this is the only way to buy a watch! At the moment when this special feeling is not there and you start to weigh up intellectually and try to hide small confounding factors from yourself, you should already keep your hands off. Actuall...

Thank you again!

Some here might disagree. I would say the 127 is one of the best modern Panerai creations. I have learned that the Fiddy is an almost identical replica of the modified 6152/1 with angelus 240 movement. For sure I personally have never seen another Luminor...

So true!

Thanks a lot for your warm and kind words. What´s next? Hmmmhhh... To be on the safe side: no new fasting vows anymore. Hahahahahaha! I have to confess my journey is very emotionally driven. I will know it for sure at the moment when I see the watch. If h...

I think that's the right approach -- a piece that individually resonates with us when we see it, even better after trying it on the wrist (whenever possible)...Hard to go wrong this way!

 By: FabR : May 28th, 2020-12:35
For me, while I always hope to find a new watch, "courting" the right piece and sometimes even waiting for it also play a fascinating role... There are indeed many great options, and those you mention are obviously in this category. I don't remember if yo...

5146G

 By: MTR : May 28th, 2020-13:04
I have owned the Patek 5146G for more than 10 years. I sacrificed it for my Nr. 1 grail, my IWC MR. Among others also my Patek 5146G had to go. I simply didn’t feel the same as for the MR. And the 5146G had become a lukewarm safe queen during the last yea...

Congratulations to the incredible Fiddy. Happy that u finally received it 😊

Nothing more to add except maybe a little picture. Enjoy it a lot 👍🏼 ...

Thank you for your kind words, dear Leopold!

That is also my feeling. If you look for example at Chrono24 you will find a few well-preserved pieces. I have to admit, the prices are partly astronomical. That's why I stayed true to my principles again this time and again made a partial trade-in deal. ...

Thank you, dear Ahoi!

Yeaaaah! We have the same strap on the 127. I can´t believe my eyes! Although this is without special performance on my part it's like a knighthood for me. Hahahaha!

Wonderful.

It sits perfectly on your wrist. The decoration of the movement is wonderful. It is hard to find a Luminor that can beat this beauty. Enjoy!

Nice story. On you can find the following explanation: „The modified Rolex 6152/1 that served as an example for the PAM 127 forms part of the Archivio Storico Panerai (Hystoric Panerai Archive) since the take-over of the Officine Panerai brand. The moder...

I'm obviously lovable and flammable (or even promiscuous ??) in watches. As long as this is only limited to watches, it still goes through as "harmless". Hahahahaha.

Good! ;) [nt]

 By: MTR : May 29th, 2020-05:29
According to the seller, the watch was serviced for the last time five years ago, but has been almost never worn. I've been watching her for about 24 hours now. She has lost 2 seconds and therefore keeps the time wonderful. Also according to the seller, t...

It is really a pleasure to wear this watch on my wrist. It wears so great. What about your considerations regarding 995? All the best my friend Thomas
