PANERAI PAM 526 REGATTA ???

Feb 16, 2014,12:45 PM

I have ordered a PAM 526 from my local dealer and may well be receiving it some time in March.

I am not a yachtsman  - in fact, I have never been on a yacht before, so the true functionality of the piece is somewhat superfluous  - I just simply like the unique look of the watch.

What are the opinions of the forum members on this one ??

Is this a piece to add to a collection and in your view could it become a sought after piece even though it is not a limited edition ???

I would appreciate your views.

Don't take your decision on the collectability of the watch.

But only on the love you have for it. This way, you won't be disappointed. Best, Nicolas.

This model is everything...but...sought after.

As a Panerai's purist, the only comment I have is...Oh yuck! If you like it, by all means buy the "thing" but, if your idea is to buy a Panerai, I would consider a different model, if I were you. :-) Ciao

Not everyone has the same taste

If some people think it is "Yuck", this might mean they have bad taste. Personally I think it is a breath of fresh air and it somewhat stands out from the dated designs. Collectibility, we shouldn't really care, but I know that for those with limited budg...

PAM 526...AN ADDITION TOO...

Thanks to all of you who have responded to my post. I appreciate your views and agree it should not necessarily have been my first choice if I was buying my first piece. I have 4 PAM'S - 391 / 448 / 389 / 382 - so the 526 would be an addition to these. Re...

Once again, the most important thing is that you love it.

In this case, don't bother with others' opinion. Best, Nicolas

With this additional information...

I would say the 526 would fit...perfectly...in your existing...stable...of Panerais. Ciao

A top-notch 'contemporary' PAM

For what I consider to be one of the top examples of (successful) contemporary PAMs, I think this piece provides a nice contrast to what you normally see out there. If you can only have one PAM, I would say go more classic, but as worthy addition to a col...

I'm afraid, I'm not as liberal or as broad minded as you are.

If you and I were on a bus and you'd point out a tall, blond, blue eyed....Sicilian....chap to me, the first thing I would wonder is, if mamma had a nice..solo...holiday in Sweden, while papa couldn't take time off work. Know what I mean? :-) Ciaooooooooo...

Keep and wear it!

Dear Neil, I am not a Paneristi but I do sail regattas. In my view this is an excellent tool watch, which I would have loved to wear during our 2009-2013 classic yacht campaign: very balanced look, well crafted, manufacture made by a brand with nautical h...

Not sure how collectible this would become

But it sure looks refreshingly nice to me. It may not have the regular Pam design cues and colors but to me, it looks great at least on the picture you shared. Note that I am not a regular fan of Pams and my view is purely based on personal views of the a...

I think the PAM526 Regatta would be a nice addition to your existing PAMs

It's always nice to get different models instead of all the same with just different colored dials. This way you have great diversification. The PAM526 is a nice watch with a great countdown feature. In terms of collectability, I don't think it'll turn in...
