With the Egiziano, this is the good surprise of this year.
The interesting thing is to have combined titanium and the 1950 case in a Submersible.
I was surprised to know that it was a 47mm case, as it doesn't look so big, in real.
The bezel is not new, as it was inspired from the 24 ( will this one be discontinued? ), with the graduations from 0 to 15.
The movement used in this 305 is the new " in house " Caliber P 9000, an automatic 3 days power reserve, which can be seen through the sapphire case back.
Now, let's see the dial, which is the only thing that is a bit disturbing to me.
Panerai opted for a mix of different watches.
Look at the Double vertical baton index at 12, and the single baton index at 6.
Does it speak to you?
Now, have a look on this dial:
The influence is clear, Panerai obviously took some elements of the design of the Radiomir ref 2533 for this ...Submersible.
And in the same time, mixed it with the round indexes of the Pam 24...
While the dial would also have been like that:
But the mix of round and rectangular indexes is disturbing me a bit, and even a bit more when the reference of the rectangular indexes is obviously taken from a Vintage Radiomir..Like the choice of the specific case of the Luminor for a ..Submersible.
Except this small reserve, this is a quite good idea, to introduce this new Submersible!
What do you think?
Best.
Nicolas
