Not sure if it's fair to call it dumb...
As we all know, list price is nothing but a figure set by the manufacturer and it does NOT necessarily reflect the fair market price. Moreover, there can be many factors that affects the desirability of a certain piece hence the 'fair' market price. As such there're bound to be cases where people pay OVER list for whatever the reasons and many of them can be perfectly sensible...

I agree with that but I'll always stick with my opinion on this subject
I'll never pay over retail price for anything. That's just one of my principles. If it's a "hot" model and I can't get it for list price, then I'll pass on the model. - AT

If I had to "bet it all" on either way, I'd bet that there will be more. Given Panerai's history of making more editions, I think the odds would be in my favor. - AT
