I, on the other hand, think that.....

Marina Militare, on a Panerai watch, is NEVER out of line. Even the Department of the Italian Navy, decided to tolerate the "faux pas" because of the long association and history they share with Panerai. I understand orthodoxy but....zealotry......is a bit out of my mind frame.

292j or 339
By: alexcc : December 29th, 2011-08:51
I have pam 292j and love it, however somebody is willing to trade 339 which i like as well. I have to pay some extra money, but this is not a concern. 339 has much better movement etc, but 292 was the first ceramic radiomir with pig. Both of them are iden...
339 all the way...

....8 days in house movement plus Marina Militare and 8 Giorni Brevettato markings. The essence of Panerai brought into the XXI century.
292 for me...

Hi. For me it will be the 292. First ceramic case, pig on the dial... ...where, i know, 339 has a in house movement. But definitely, i think the markings "marina militare" are, IMHO, illegitimate on this watch. Modern, technically worked, ok, but definite...

Not so sure about the illegitimacy of the MM on 339
By: Jester : December 29th, 2011-19:18
but don't forget the 339 is NOT the second or third ceramic but the FIRST composite. Coupled w/ the in house movement I would say it's DEFINITELY a winner over 292J.

...and I let go the 292 long ago. I am not planning to do the same ever with the 339. A true keeper.
do you know why?
By: swjoseph : December 29th, 2011-23:57
i really wanted to know why your friend would want to trade a 339 for a 292 unless he is a dealer.
the answer is simple, he has two.
By: alexcc : December 30th, 2011-08:42
Two years ago he placed two orders with two AD and eventually bought two watches. He rational was that he will trade one of them for the next desirable model. He is a collector and has close to 30 pams.
PAM339 for me as well
By: AnthonyTsai : December 31st, 2011-10:37
The PAM292 w/ pig doesn't really do much for me. I'd rather have the 339 instead because it's nice to have a brown colored watch in your collection to spice things up Cheers, Anthony
