Officine Panerai

The next watch I'm writing about is probably a watch that I know some of you wished did not get released - the 47mm PAM507 Bronzo Power Reserve Submersible. The PAM507 is the younger sibling of the PAM382 Bronzo Submersible which debuted 2 years ago at SI...  

If they wanted a power reserve model Panerai could have used the P9001 movement sans GMT hand in the 382 and it would have been perfect no need for 507

Absolutely love the PAM507 as I did the PAM382, but call me crazy, I think they are extremely beautiful watches when less than a month old, but the aging process is a bit of a gamble, and now we are seeing the PAM382 after a couple of years, and personall... 

They should have kept their word ! the 382 was said to be the only one ... we all know that specific interview. It was copy pasted several times on that famous Panerai forum and not once did Panerai denied it. That made me believe that the 382 was indeed ...

I had been collecting Panerai for long and with episodes like these you tend to loose faith in the brand and its managers. It seems they are focused towards commercialization then building brand uniqueness . I guess it is one of the pressures they have wh... 

If this article were written by a hard-core watch journalist, then I would tend to believe it if he quoted Bonati word for word. From a luxury lifestyle journalist, I'd take it with a grain of salt. I feel the writer may have misquoted Bonati and misinter... 

Anthony I agree that we don't have to believe everything we read. So maybe these words are not 100% correct but that's my point. It was discussed many times on 'that' Panerai site and I know for sure Panerai also reads 'that' site. Why didn't they tell us... 

Of course the 507 is a nice watch and probably sold out allready , but I agree the copy is done without even "trying" to make something different , adding a PR meter is not realy that different of the 382, personally I don't like it mostly due to the fact... 

I might be mistaken, but I think the 382 had a different finish on the box. I'll be honest, I like the addition of the power reserve, and do not at all find it out of place on this rather modern watch.
