Got my Pam 526

Jun 14, 2014,20:32 PM

Shortly after 2013 SIHH announced their collection, two watches I dearly loved to own, the Bronze II 507 and the Regatta 526. Anthony Tsai did a comprehensive review on both these pieces and I dreamed to own one then. Last Christmas, dream comes true, I took home the 507, and yesterday, the 526 arrived and after a detail inspection, she's home with me, making dream comes true #2. Anthony already compiled an in-depth review with beautifully captured photos and video, so I won't repeat what he already did. The only addition I would like to make is that the countdown timer "orange minute hand" can be pressed as many times as you wish, I pressed 65 times yesterday, the orange hour hand moved back one notch, which means I started a one hour and 5 minutes countdown, and that is truly amazing.  I agreed in total what Anthony said about this piece, collecting chronographs for years, I have never seen, heard, or own a mechanical piece that offers this unique countdown function. I like the multi-color coded hands, button markings, 47mm brushed titanium casing to make it a lightweight watch to wear all day, and of course, a Panerai in-house movement, the P9100/R.

Enjoy my snaps with my mobile phone, nowhere near the quality in Anthony's review, 526 and 507 will remain to be my best pieces from my Panerai collection...

Just right for my wrist, multi-colored hands first for Panerai

Anthony, you took lots in your article and mine were taken by mobile phone. I don't own a yacht or cruiser so this Regatta will not put through the waters the way it was designed to do. As a photographer in sports, the chrono and timer will come handy to ...

Do you still have it?

A friend of mine is on the verge of buying the latest regatta from Panerai and I\'m wondering how it holds up in time.

Still have the Regatta

The 507 has gone because of the good resale price and helped bought an AP. The Regatta is on my Keep-List, the best mechanical timer/stopwatch, definitely worth to get one. The count down timer, effectively can go to 11 hours 59 minutes...

tnx [nt]
