I'll tell you an anecdote....
the 249, was both, my first Panerai and my first plexy. After a couple of weeks I litterally grated it (like parmesan cheese) again a coloumn in my garage. I burst in laughter and though: "Great, now I don't have to worry anymore" LOLLL

What is the chance that panerai would allow me to put a sapphire crystal ala 424 on a 249?
My "mechanicl" knowledge is sorely....
inexistent but I thing it shouldn't be much of a problems. If you don't have a "friendly" AD to ask to, let me see if I can get you the answer.

As I know it usually involves also a different bezel to capture the crystal ; but I love the look of distortion with domed sapphire.... just like the 448/249 more than the 424...
