Bought both 172 and 192, the metal is like a worn out PVD

 

I fall in love on both model and they are just great looking. I think Anthony has correctly point out the reason why its not that popular (yet), I agree the pricing is a bit high and that might put people off, but in my opinion its a great collector item. When you wear them, you can feel the weight and the strength of such material.... can't describe it in words.

I feel the greyish color looks like a worn out PVD (since I don't have any PVDs, its like a substitue for me), but the color of tantalium will never fate... beside its one of the hardest metal around, this metal is used to make anti-tank missle, it penetrates tank armour like butter.

With Panerai's military historical linkage, this tantalium seems quite suitable and brings out incredible strength of their product. Since these 2 models are the only tantalium model, someday they might be sought after.... who knows....
