Work from home : Revisiting another oldie.

Some of you may have seen another “WFM” post last week over on the IWC forum. In a similar vein today I pulled out another watch which hasn’t seen a whole lot of wrist time in the last several years My PAM 360. Introduced for the 10th anniversary of Paner...

Thank you Nicolas.

What’s also interesting to me is that this watch was announced when much of the world was getting back on their respective feet post the 2008 Financial Crisis. At that time it wasn’t clear to me if spending money on a watch was the prudent thing to do, an...

Agreed, Jay. [nt]

A true classic

10 years later, it’s evident you were a perfect home for this watch.

Thank you. I do love this watch a lot.

I’ve thought several times in recent years of trying to find something else to compliment it, as it’s my only Panerai these days. Something older for sure, but also a Base.

Great memory of what was such a strong Panerai community 10 years ago.

Controversy or not, it is a beautiful piece and definitely a favorite of mine.

For me it had (has) everything too.

Despite many people’s disdain for faux patina, I loved the look of this dial/markers. It was in so many ways more practical than going after an early piece that may have visually looked similar (objectivity speaking, those earlier pieces look better actua...

Now we know you’re really after getting a 42mm Journe.

And you’re posting these he-man pieces so we don’t have a hissy when you buy that over-sized Optimum. Right?

Hah ! Carry overs from times long gone.

But you’re right, I’ve posted two 44mm pieces in a row now so I best be quiet about the big Journes!

True ownership passion for Panerai...

It’s great to hear your feelings for this watch and the brand. I look back with fond memories of excitement that went with collecting these watches.

Thanks Cpt.

There are some people connected to this watch with whom I need to reconnect, this is a good reminder of that. And similarly there are some people with whom this watch will connect me. “So much more than a watch” was a common refrain in those days and it’s...

I've never "desired" one.....

 By: sergio : April 15th, 2020-00:14
and being the first model with a faux-tritium dial, it never attracted me since I'm an originalist. I understand the meaning of this model, I understand clans with "secret handshakes" that bond through customized and instantly identifiable objects: a lape...

The faux-tritium is certainly devisive, and I understand that. The watch itself, due to the allocation process, was also such.

In an ideal world I would have liked a PAM 9A, or to push the boat out some more a Pre-V 201/A Logo. Those were desires 10-15 years ago and remain so today. The 360, for me, scratched some of this itch if that makes sense. It was obviously a far far less ...

I've always loved the 360

...but never had a chance to own one. I may be the odd man out on the lume, but I think it looks great with the PVD case. I probably already have all the PAM I need (a 190, 372, 000) so I'll likely never acquire a 360 but I'll always admire it from afar.

No no, there is much love for the lume and I certainly love it.

It’s funny, I used to own both the 190 and the 372. The 372 was the last Panerai I purchased, right upon release. A great watch, also very pure in design, very strong. But the 190, perhaps the only one I regret letting go. I wore that one a lot. I think y...

If you look around....

now that the T-dialled Panerais bubble has expolded, you might find a 009Pre-A at a cost that doesn't entail having to sell a kindely, to be able to afford it. Even the 201A Logo, has reached prices that might be considered affordable my many people, thes...
