Officine Panerai

Very valid question...

... the point is that part of my decision was indeed based on the fact that it was limited. As indicated in my post, this is an expensive watch because it has a white gold case and then they topped it up a bit more because of the fact that it was a limited. Apart from that and some nice looks, nothing extraordinary about this watch (little intrinsic value if you can call it that). It has a very basic movement and the dial itself is no more expensive I guess than any other dial they manufacture.

I at the time indeed decided that with only 300 pieces produced, it was worth the $$$ they asked for it. Would my decision have been different if at the time they had introduced it as a 400pcs or 500pcs watch. Maybe not. But the key thing is that you can not just decide to change production numbers for such an expensive watch, which people had partly also subscribed to because it is so rare, without letting your customers know.

Imagine having spent close to 20k euro / 30k usd and being under the impression that you bought a 300pcs watch and then you look at the certificate  and it shows 501 pieces. Surely, that must leave a sour taste.....

For me this is the ultimate evidence of complete disrespect of your customers.
