looks like the strap is made up of two different halves

remember how many years these tools were in service. This specific compass was made in the 1940's, most likely used in WW2 and was still used up to the 80's until it was decommissioned. During its lifetime it has definitely seen some straps, and the Navy ...

I had very bad time to try to forget ( in vain ) these awesome pics of such great Panerai Watches... Small Egiziano, Egiziano, MM, 6152, and some nice pre vendome... Wow, wish i were there to view all these beauties and pieces of history in the flesh! Bes...
