Hi friends, I am in big trouble with the PAM 662. The reference which still intrigues me the most, after having seen it in the Panerai booth through the window with bad light conditions. How is the brown? Like this? Or lighter? Do some of you have real pi...  

the dial and the lume are the same as the 390. It is a very interesting coffee-brown, from some aspects light brown, but from other a deeper one. I have had the 390, therefore my experiences. Yours, Adam

But if the brown really pleases me, it may be 662 first.

But I am also intrigued. The fly in the ointment for me is the combination of hand-wound movement with a screw-down crown. I\'d rather have a hand-wound Panerai with their lever crown-guard - much easier to wind... Any thoughts about its brother, the 663.... 

The crown is big enough to be easily wound, so, no problem here. I like the purity of the no crown guard Rad 1940 a lot. I really have to see it in the flesh. Best, Nicolas

...and the dial does look to be a nice colour. For me the issue is screwing down the crown. I\'m always worried I\'ll make a mess of the threading! Best E.

but I've always had the impression of a..bleached dial. That, in order to get as close as possible (but not too much) to the discoloration of the original 6154.

I really regret to not have been able to handle it at the SIHH...

so will I say it's only brown in the sun. Inside it looks more black than brown IMHO. But maybe the 662 have another color, I'm not sure. Here is a quick non edited pic outside with a black dialed Panerai beside the brown. ...

The brown of the 662 is unlike any other Panerai dial. Well, except the 663 of course. I'd call it a latte color. It can vary a lot depending on the light. Love it! An absolute stunner IMO. Here are some shots to digest. ...

I've never said it was a bad looking watch. What I have written and still believe pretty strongly about, is that they should have left the 6154 alone due to the..uniqueness..ot its dial, that's all. If they had made an LE, the like of the 203 or the 267 w...

The dial was not sandwich, the movement was not Rolex Cortebert nor Angelus... And it is rightly considered as a top Limited Edition. Do we have the new PAM 36 with the 662? Best, Nicolas

The 663 is to the 6154 the same as the 390 is to the 36 IMO of course

the 36 follows the...new beginning...of the Panerai watchmaking history and has nothing to do with the sandwich era. The commercial production phase instead of the...assembly/outsourcing production..one. Right?

the pressed/sculpted dial is Pre-V detail on a...vintage like...model. As per the early Vendome, I would also say yes but only in..philosophy..because it goes right along with other..super vintage..models revived by the Vendome boys (21, 232, 127, 203, 24... 

The 662 reminds me that time. It is different from the others you mentioned such as the 127 / 217 / 203 / and so on... Now, I would have preferred Sandwich, but not a no go for me. The dial color is the big question for me. Best, Nicolas

I haven't tried a black strap, but I suspect the contrast with the dial would be very striking. I have the 587 as well. At this point, if I had to keep only one, I would choose the 662. It's just so unique. That said, I do love the 587 and feel you can't ...

Its an amazing watch i have to agree. The painted milky dial it great. It's special, unique and different . I don't had the feeling of missing the sandwich at all. So I am pretty tempted even though you hear so many constraints. Once you see it live once ...

First time they made that brown I would say. Pretty unique and special. Enclosed original one which was the motivation . ...

I'm trying to compare the hands on the 6154.. wondering if it should have those types of hands for the 662. I'm thinking it was "forgivable" for the 372 granted that it would have been better with the pencil hands. For the 662.. not necessarily pencil han... 

As the light brown might bother you at some times not being a true patina?

for me the hands are pretty close to original or am i looking of a wrong one. ok, the minute one is much longer but that ok. depending on which 6154 you look at the "patina" or i call it better the dial is not that far away. i fall in love with the 662 ev...

the non-sandwich dial was what killed it for me... enjoy the hunt Nico...

I do not 100% understand why they haven't done a sandwich dial as its a cool thing and the original seems to have one too. But having the watch it is not really bothering me. But I clearly understand your point ...
