If you had to recommend

If you had to recommend a model, which one would be the 2-3 most iconic and classic Panerai? I have PAM312, bug at times I don’t feel is iconic enough, I don’t know, maybe is the case proportions, maybe the dial or the cristal. ...
The 372.

I don’t own one but that one always struck me as classic OP and is probably the one I would get.
The 312 brings back a few memories…

That model seemed to have the internet lit up, and it still is a very cool Panerai. Regarding your question, I agree with vitalsigns and expect many of the experienced members here will mention the 372 as a modern icon that faithfully represents Panerai D...

cannot be iconic, period The models that would fit: 000, 002, 009. 372, 232, 249 off the top of my head. Less IS more, in a Panerai. Start with 3-6-9-12, manual winding. Everything you add to that, makes the Panerai less and less attractive. I.M.O. of cou...
Amen.

Except - for me - the 670, which I love immensely although… LOLLLL
The key word: ICONIC...not how much I love MY Panerai.

it can't be a 312, it can't be the 670 etc etc An ICON of Hollywood cannot be Raphael Joaquim Ortega (if an actor with that name has ever existed). You have to go to Gable, Wayne, Stewart etc
Amen again! 🙏

Therefore my „…although…“. „…although it’s just my personal icon and for sure not a classic.” LOLLL Ciao Thomas
Iconic -- 372 or 249

My favorites, still somewhat attainable: 587, 673, 249. If 47mm is too big, there are many nice 44mm Luminors (e.g., 176)
For me

372 587 662 1080 (owned by Ahoi) 721 (not loved by everybody): and the good old Fiddy (127): Enjoy your hunt ☺️ Thomas ...
