I loved to see that Panerai used the 44 mm cases in the pre vendome era.. And I still love the Pre V Panerais. Now, I think that 47mm in THE size for a Pam. To make the diffeerence with the Pree V era. To play the historical card. No need for the easy 44 ...

such as the 233 and 320/351 etc, the answer should be yes, if logic were to prevail. I personally don't think it necessary, though. For super-personal reasons (to be sure) I consider the 1950 case a 47mm affair....exclusively. I also like the 233, 351, 32...
