Chronographs were something of an acquired taste in areas apart from the functional (I.e. industry, sports, racing and the like - and here mostly stopwatches sufficed) and the whole idea of in-house movements being superior from a marketing perspective on...

But it makes a lot of sense that those houses would use the best quality movements available as a base to work from especially as at that time that in house movements wasn't such a big deal in terms of marketing. Marc

My surprise lies not with the use of ebauches by VC and Patek. More about the use of Minerva calibres. I’ve not read not heard anything about this beyond this article. 🤝

VC didn’t have reference numbers back then as well. So many of these older models were only referenced in the last 30 or so. This will add to the difficulty in tracking down the VC models that had Minerva ebauches. 🤝

It doesn't show that VC used Minerva ebauches.

The article says that Minerva chronographs were used by VC but I hear you … the register doesn’t prove anything. I’ll email Mont Blanc and see what they say and get back with my findings. 🤝
