Montblanc

Elegant and good value!

Thanks for sharing Mark! I love what I am seeing too! I have the Minerva 150th Jubilee Montblanc Villeret Chronographe grand feu email piece #1 of 8 and it has the same beautifully finished calibre 13.21 which is now used in this Meisterstuck Heritage chronograph.

Initially I was not very happy that MB is allowing their Villeret movements to be housed in a non Villeret case but I was told the Meisterstuck Heritage series is a brand new series and also to commemorate the 90th anniversary of MB Meisterstuck. What better way to have a new watch series to commemorate the company's most important product's anniversary (the Meisterstuck pen) with their best inhouse movement, ie from MB Villeret?

During the last key anniversary I think MB had to get some external movement for their Star perptual calendar LE but they have not partnered with Minerva yet then. Now I feel very proud my MB villeret watch movement, the 13.21, is used to kickstart this new Heritage line and also to commemorate the 90th anniversary of my favorite MB pen! I am glad my favorite watch manufacture (the Minerva institute) played a pivotal role here. This watch is beautiful and good value for the price although of course you cannot compare it to a very rare MB Villeret (max LE 58 but usually more limited than that to 18 or 8 or piece unique!) or those with enamel dials for the price. Those are more exclusive, finely made (beautiful case, very thick sapphire glass and gold dials) and expensive! This is a good alternative to get a minerva movement with good value if getting a MB Villeret is not a priority.

I asked myself will I get this over my MB villeret? Personally I would still get my MB Villeret as it has the unique hunter case with Mr Cabbidu's signature and a very beautiful black enamel dial (plus the rarity and added refinement). But that's becos I am a crazy Minerva and Mr Cabbidu fan! In fact, we have the same watch (2 out of the 4 pieces in black enamel with the other 4 in white enamel). For other collectors, I think the new Meisterstuck Heritage Monopusher is a great alternative! Kudos to Montblanc for this novelty in SIHH 2014! I hope the Minerva calibre 13.21 can be enjoyed by more owners via this new model. smile

Meanwhile some pictures from my preciousssss to share. Hope you can see the 13.21 calibre clearly from my cellphone pic. And also a pic taken with my favorite watch maker, Mr Cabbidu. I am proud to have the same watch as the master himself! smile

 Cheers

 Robin
