Yes the inner ring is just decoration, there is nothing functionnal behind, Phil.
Well, I saw this watch almost one year ago, and with time passing, I think I don't like the Dauphine Hands, on this MR.
But to each his own, of course.
Still, I think JLC should avoid making these variations of or on the same thing... These small details don't make the MMR different, but they take a lot from the exclusivity of such a watch.

Love all versions of this watch, and dream of owning one one day! I like the 'sweeter' case and lugs, and the less modern elements (more classic) of the Master... but I really do love all versions--a supreme timepiece.

Theorically, you're right.
In the facts, it is different... The Trebuchet is a great solution for the reasons you perfectly highlighted. But I find the sound a bit agressive... Not always, though. I guess it is related to bthe settings. Best, Nicolas

I am curious as to exactly how they join metal to the sapphire without glue.
My guess would be...
...it's rather brazing instead of welding. Just google "brazing metal to sapphire" and you should find pretty much info about the possible processes. Don't know what's used by JLC though Best regards Suitbert
