Yes, satin is not as long lasting as croco
My wife has a JLC with satin strap. It disintegrated after about 6 years of very occasional wear. The satin surface disintegrated and the powdery residue stained her clothing. She wasn’t aware of the source of stain until she returned the watch to the box and notice the cleaning cloth was also stained. We brought it to JLC’s attention and changed it to a croco strap. I forget whether it was a free replacement as we did a complete service as well. So satin strap is not as robust as croco leather.
