Question about Jaeger-LeCoultre satin straps

I was wondering if anyone here might have any experience with Jaeger-LeCoultre's satin straps, specifically for the Reverso range ? I'm particularly interested in how they fare in terms of durability and comfort compared to the leather ones. I have plenty of experience with JLC's leather straps, but before potentially purchasing a satin strap for a Reverso I just wanted to do some further research in case there's anything I might need to be aware of in terms of disadvantages when compared to leather.

I had, for a little while, the Reverso Rio De Janeiro
I think it was on a fabric strap, maybe satin, honestly, not quite sure how you differentiate.
Either way, it seemed quite durable to me, actually felt like it would put up with more “fuss” than my Reverso on a gator.
It’s no longer with, but as I can remember, I perceived the strap as durable.
My $0.02 anyways.
Bad durability
My wife has a duo face reverso that came on a purple satin strap. The strap simple crumbled in a few months. Then I replaced it with another satin strap and the same thing happened. The strap is basically leather lined with satin on the top. My wife wears the watch about 20 times a year and there is no perspiration to degenerate it. It’s just something that is not long lasting.
Alas, that doesn't surprise me. Till a very recent time, straps at JLC weren't their best asset. [nt]

That's an interesting take, I had the Reverso Rio De Janeiro for at least six months, wore it quite often during that time, neve had any of the crumbling issues....
Could because I am very careful with my watches, my JLC Geographic from 10 years ago still has the same gator strap.

Gator not the issue
The gator straps are not an issue I have them on my JlCs it’s the satin leather that’s the problem. I understand some of the straps use to be made by Camille Fournet earlier
Yes, I meant to say I had the satin/fabric strip on a
Reverso Rio De Janeiro, wore it for six months without issue or crumpling...
Strap looked brand new when I sold it.
Yes, satin is not as long lasting as croco
My wife has a JLC with satin strap. It disintegrated after about 6 years of very occasional wear. The satin surface disintegrated and the powdery residue stained her clothing. She wasn’t aware of the source of stain until she returned the watch to the box and notice the cleaning cloth was also stained. We brought it to JLC’s attention and changed it to a croco strap. I forget whether it was a free replacement as we did a complete service as well. So satin strap is not as robust as croco leather. But the watch (a master twinkling) performs flawlessly and continues to be enjoyed.

Thank you all for your input - very much appreciated ! It's interesting that there seem to be a few different experiences with the satin straps. I might end up playing it safe and going with leather, but I'll keep my options open and take a look at the satin straps in person next time I'm at my AD before I make my mind up.
