Do tell ! On a serious note, always wonder JLC does no do A Brown strap with their WG pieces ?!? That would make the MUT irresistible !

And the date at 6 o'clock gives the dial a better balance and symmetry when compared to the traditional 3 o'clock position.

... in my opinion the philosophy behind a ultra thin watch is all about the "less is more" aproach to design! I am very happy I took the decision in 2006 and bought the original and very pure 34 mm Master Ultra Thin before it was too late and Jaeger disco... 

But as said, there are quite a lot of people who ABSOLUTELY want a date and an automatic movement... Why not knowing the pleasures of a MUT case with these features? Is that for you, me and some others? No. But the pleasure is in the diversity. ;) Best, N...

...an in-house movement from VC, and quite a beautiful one. Side-by-side photos may not do the comparison of the JLC and VC watches justice, but side-by-side in-the-hand will reveal some differences. Whether the differences justify the price differential ... 

as the date function. To me the center seconds hand opens the face in a way that the small seconds on the MUT 38.5 or MUT Grande does not. I would love to see an MUT with center seconds hand but without the date.

Since there is a 38mm small seconds, I doubt JLC will ever release a 40 mm center seconds without date.... But who knows? Best, and welcome here, by the way. Nicolas

Oddly - since it is JLC's entry level watch - I think the Master Control date is one of the nicest of JLC designs at the moment. All the points Ifind wrong with this watch are right in the MC. Aren't I fortunate to havesuch taste!

I love the design of the MUT 39, as well as the Tribute To Reverso 1931... And I don't ven speak about the Duometre(s). The good thing with this diversity is that we can have diverse opinions and favourites. But I do get your point. Best, Nicolas

I recently saw one at a dealer and it really drew me in. I typically don't like dates, but there is a real harmony on the MC date. I've been contemplating an MUT 41 or RDM, but the MC date really complicates matters. By the way, as with many of the JLC MC... 

I must admit that in this case I would like to join the "no date" faction. While I like the useful side of a date for day by day use I do not want to have it at any cost. It needs to be well integrated into the design of the watch in question. Find it a n...

I agree with you that it is time for JLC to "rationalize the Ultra Thin Family a bit." It has actually gotten to the point where the ultra-thin offerings are confusing, at least to me. Well, that and the use of the term "ultra-thin" here is a bit misleadi...

I have a MGUT 40 mm but I was glad to see the 38.5 mm because I am a bit annoyed by ever growing diameters, even for elegant watches. Even Lange introduced the 38.5 mm for the 1815. I think JLC could have just two sizes for the Ultra Thin line: 38 and 40 ... 

but I think it could be manufactured also in a 38 mm case... or , by the way, 38.5. Maybe we they could opt for 38.5 and 40 :)

that the date disc is the same cream color as the dial. Otherwise, it looks like the brand "went cheap" with a simple, white, non-matching disc. -Dean
