WOW! Appreciate your detailed explanation of that gorgeous Grande GMT!

I think the complications are really awesome! and 8 days power??!! superb!

That said, this reverso still hasn't addressed the issue I hope to raise and discuss.

To simplify, I thought the pusher should change on 12-hour basis on the primary timezone, and not the 24-hour/GMT timezone. 24-hour/GMT timezone wouldn't need to be changed as frequently as the primary timezone.

A traveler can tell if it's am/pm at his/her destination (by looking at the sun, or for drunkards at 3 o'clock, hehehe), hence 12-hour basis will suffice. GMT/24-hour timezone is useful to tell if it's day/night back home (since he/she's away). Moving on to his/her next destination, the traveler can simply change the 12-hour timezone to the new time, while the GMT continues to stay put to track hometime (and about time to call the SO biggrin ).

Hope this makes it clearer as to why I'm asking the question!

Thanks again, cazalea! That was a great share, looking forward to see more of your Reverso's!!

Cheers!
Tony

Question on Reverso Duo's Dual Timezone Function

 By: utcpluseight : December 21st, 2016-03:26
I am giving myself some time (before my wedding in 1-2 year's time) to consider "THE" piece. (She wants a Memovox, which I thought was great choice. I digress.) I love timezone pieces, and am looking around for a versatile piece I can wear to work and als...

Did you consider the Reverso Grande GMT (ref. 302.84.20) and the Geophysic UT (ref. Q8108420)? If not, may be you could find all that you are looking for with these ones? Just another possibility IMHO. Best wishes Alkiro

Thanks for your kind suggestion, Alkiro!

I did consider the Geophysic UT, I even tried it on! However, as beautifully made as the dial is, I can\'t get over how busy the entire watch looks. The map is a fine elegant touch, which is great! But together with important information, i.e. 24-hour and...

Grande GMT explained

The Grande GMT has one movement and two faces. Each face has multiple sub-dials. THE FRONT The front face has a silver/white dial with main time indicated by blued hands. A day/night indicator is at 2, with small seconds at 4:30 and crown-adjusted big dat...

Well, let's consider this

 By: cazalea : December 21st, 2016-20:47
The home time is shown along with the day/night indicator on the front. That is sufficient to tell you if it\'s day or night at home (white dial). Now if you travel or want to know time in a different place, flip the watch over to the away side. I keep mi...

Different POV

 By: le_chef : December 22nd, 2016-07:59
The difference here is you\'re not using your Reverso as a travel watch, but as a "Phone" watch, and there\'s a big difference between the two modes in terms of functional priorities. For your use a WorldTimer would perhaps be a better option. For actual ...

Of course, none of these watches is really necessary

 By: cazalea : December 22nd, 2016-08:13
I've flown over 4 million miles around the world and while I have taken the Reverso on a few trips, I normally will not take an expensive watch when I travel - I almost always wear my Breitling Aerospace. Safety, convenience and ruggedness trump all the w...

haha, thanks @le_chef and @cazalea for the lively discussion on this topic. exactly what I hoped for!

@le_chef, you definitely got my point! and I'd agree with @cazalea that 'none of these watches is really necessary'. to me, it's just nice to have a conversion on this 'minor' of even 'non-existent' issues, such as with the DST issue on some world time wa...

I've found the ultimate Reverso (Classic Large Duoface; ref 3838420)! :D

Reverso Classic Large Duoface pretty much satisfies my desire for the travel timepiece! Was looking at the JLC catalogue and found Ref 3838420. YouTuber lelocle posted a video and it fits my requirement for the perfect traveling Reverso! Function: Front f...

Logic vs Movement Design

 By: le_chef : December 21st, 2016-09:11
i agree with you. The perfect Reverso travel watch would have "Local" time on the front dial with a date function. Pushers on the left side of the case would advance the local time hour forwards or backwards in 1 hour increments. The reverse side of the w...

haha, logic, yes; movement design, I think they're capable too!

 By: utcpluseight : December 21st, 2016-16:43
I think the team at JLC hasn't heard such feedbacks. I'm sure they can make a prototype within a week just to reverse (Reverso-ception? :P) the change to the primary timezone! Geophysic UT's hourly-adjustment to the hour hand is the prime example as to ho...

I own the Grande GMT and it's awesome...

 By: watchme : January 17th, 2020-07:57
However, you night consider the "Grande DuoDate". It changes the time on the front by pulling out the crown 1 click, and the date goes forwards and backwards. The verso side has the home time with a 24-dial at the bottom, which, technically, can be read i...
