When 37mm was considered big

Hi All Was looking at some old watch catalogues & found one for JLC for 1995. A few things that struck me - first what we all recognise as one of the main series for JLC was being rolled out & indeed some of the watches were most definitely from an earlier design period. The second was the introduction of the Master Control, but in two sizes! A GT & a classic - the GT was the one most of us now know, but there was also a smaller classic size.

The classic size

Most of the Master Control we see from this era are the larger 37mm. My Master Moon is this size. Though of late I've started to be drawn to the classic (I think 34mm) it has a lot of charm & the all important gold medallion on the caseback too. Cheers JML

Yes 34 does sound interesting, much more in line with vintage sizes than today Cheers JML

Yes - I'm really struck by these earlier versions too.

Despite being a bit distracted by the classic size at the moment - the 37mm size is pretty much a sweet spot in size for me. Cheers JML
