Just a few days after the WatchProSite JLC visit, I was lucky enough to be invited by the JLC boutique manager in Rome to come to the Vallèe De Joux and visit the Manufacture with a group of clients of the brand. I didn't hesitate for a second, and gladly...  

...btw, which reference is this? It has a great 'rustic' quality that I really like, even though my bank account wouldn't : ) ...  

Watching the escapement was mesmerizing, it looked like alien technology.

'...Measuring 31 mm wide, 51.1 mm long and 12.4 mm high...' It seems that the length might be an issue, the thickness seems reasonable considering...

It's actually impressive that they managed to squeeze a rotating case AND a two axis tourbillon in under 13mm!

Unfortunately the dial of the Patek wasn't visible, but it was white (probably enamel) with black roman numerals and chronograph registers if I recall correctly.

Amazing post!!! Visiting Le Sentier is on my bucket list. How many watches does JLC put out a year? Anyone know?

...he said that he doesn't know because there isn't a clear number going around. I think I've heard from Tim Mosso that it's around 100k, but I'm not sure

So JLC has production volumes similar to AP

It's around 50-60k pieces a year, they recently increased production.

JLC is also the largest single source of movements inside of the Richemont group, so movements are being constructed both openly and unadvertised for other Richemont group brands. Best, Tim

Such a great experience and top horology. JLC does make some great watches. I do think that they could add some pizaz to their higher complications as far as the case or hands are concerned. Duometer chronograph is a stunner.

It's a brand of substance, and with a few style adjustments to the catalogue it could be a lot more popular.

I loved each second of it, and hopefully I'll get to visit some more brands in the future.

It really makes you appreciate the amount of work that is put into their watches and the value that they bring to the industry

The blue dial really gives the master control calendar a lot of character, JLC would greatly benefit from more vibrant dials, unfortunately it's a limited edition.
