Thank you for the excellent photo essay. Although I'm not terribly familiar with this model, exploring the universe of past products is an essential part of the JLC fan experience. I feel like there's always a new (old?) piece of history waiting to be dis... 

To research and collet JLC is a teasure hunt! :) You never know what you will find around the next corner... Not sure if any other Manufacturer produced that many different watches like the one from Vallée de Joux! Thank you for your kind comments, Tim! B... 

I bought something similar some months ago but redder and shinier. I have not found the time to use it yet. Will share later. And to tell you the truth, I didn't know JLC had a 24-hour watch. So much to learn still for me. Ruckdee

Yes, these old ads apply! The dial is near perfect with light patina and darken radium dots. The scratches you see in the photos is in the plexi... As for the reference - here comes the trick part. The other case version with more c-shaped lugs (also scre...

The dial is beautiful, with its applied hour markers indexes. To read on a 24 hours scale is so natural and so complex at the same time. That is the fun of it. Huge congratulations on this lovely catch, my friend. There was another piece from the Lecoultr...

Who would happen to know if the hands from the Quartermaster are the same ones as for Geophysic. Both watches are from 1958...so could they have used the same charismatic hands?

They look pretty much the same. As Nicolas stated, different movements, so you never know if the axis will fit. But, at this time many things were "standard" so the chance is that the are exchangebal. Here is a quick comparison shot - note that both watch...

Was really premium dollar I would say...! But, let's no discuss prices here... ;) As for the "american JLC" - due to some import/branding rules JLC was not allowed to brand their watches JLC and instead brand them LeCoultre. The import rules aslo restrict... 

Thanks for the info Blomman! Would you know if there's any more detailed info or vintage Ad or any reference of this LeCoultre Quartermaster? Really interesting watch, I want one, tried to search in 'the bay' but no luck. Unlike other American LeCoultre, ... 

I have over 300 JLC/LC ads in my library + I don't know how many catalogues... LeCoultre watches from the same time like the Worldtimer, Master Mariner Chronometre, Galaxy.... I have several documents... But I have never seen one single document on the Qu...

The Lecoultre archives were lost, sadly... So, most of the time, we can find an ad or two which describes a Watch we didn't know. That is the way I discovered the Lecoutlre Master Mariner Chronometer... Best, Nicolas
