Jaeger-LeCoultre

Some answers...

1. The big holes on the dial if youare referring to the two power reserve indicators are in fact a nice touch. The  power reserve-indicator-triangles actually move to create the illusion that the pointer is moving. And it naturally shows a bit of the movement i.e. hint of a skeleton

2. The huge pusher is for the date and this is something you would need to use frequently given the fact that we all may either forget to wind the watch or alternate with other ones to wear.

3. The pointer date hand aspect that you have brought up- I will pass this over as a matter best left to  individual tastes of course.

4. The movement actually is big enought to fill the case 42mm. In fact it is a pleasure to see a decent sized movement amidst the tiny ones pretending to be big via spacer rings to fit 42 mm cases. I can quote numerous examples from the so called marquees.

5.  I beg to disagree. Jaeger has chosen the option of displaying the exact day of the moonphase using a pointer hand. Very few brands have attempted this. This feature actually allows you to read the moon phase perfectly without having to guess as to which day of the moon it is on any given day. Besides the pointer hand therefore allows us to reset the moonphase (day) whenever the fractions add up to a single day or whenever the watch needs to be wound afresh after a few days of non-use.

6. To top it all, it is accurate. I have been measuring it against a quartz clock with amazing results.
