Jaeger-LeCoultre

simple: wrong combination

I think that there is a crowd out there who likes the diving pro geo, so I can only speak of the reasons that make "me" not like it:

ergonomy with the pressure sensor is not comfortable.
the geographic function is not a
the dial is hard to read with the second time zone function that could have been a cut in a window rather than displaying the whole 24h disk.
the depth gauge on the dial is also hard to read.
for any diver who has ever used a depth gauge, they all include a "sliding" hand to display the deepest depth reached during the dive. So does the deep 2 from IWC. No sliding hand means that this "super dive watch" was designed without asking anybody who has done a simple open water certificate about the functions of the watch.

("I can be corrected, if I am wrong) the straps don't come with the classic very useful "diving" extention which allows to quickly "enlarge" the strap to fit correctly on a wetsuit. Check-out the rolex sea dweller deepsea and their amazing new system for that purpose.

In other words this is a watch to dive into parties at St tropez in the south of France in summer and end up thrown in the pool after too much bubbly smile or to wear for a cocktail on a yacht on some luxuous marina. but not for diving. More possible, a sport looking watch with a distinctive design that one can enjoy wearing for sporty week ends of any kind.

My conclusion:
despite the presence of a  depth gauge, this is not designed as a dive watch. The depth gauge itself is missing the "sliding hand" and the dial is too crowded to be read easily at surface, so even worth under water. Blue color is the first one to fade as you go down into the sea and will be seen as greyish even before you reach 30ft.

technically, it still has amazing features such as the compression keys, the "absorbers for the calibre"
a good weater resistance
light materials for the case
and all the usual care that JLC puts into the finish of all parts.

I am glad that JLC did the MC diving alarm Navy Seals which is an example of a very good dive watch with high readibility of the dial. The alarm function :could be useful under water (although not mandatory for sure). This would be my choice, if a limited serie was not pushing the price out of my reach for the time being.
